Position Title: Custodian
Employment Type: Full time, University Staff, Non-exempt
Reports To: The Custodial Services Supervisor
Pay Range: $31,200 - $41,600
Two Positions:
1. Sunday ¿ Thursday, 6am - 2:30pm
2. Tuesday ¿ Saturday, 6am ¿ 2:30 pm

The custodian cleans facilities, removes waste and recycling, and monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours.  Ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas.
 

JOB DUTIES:

 

Job Responsibilities Include:
¿ Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
¿ Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
¿ Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
¿ Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
¿ Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
 

The Facilities Management Department is a key part of the University that ensures the campus roads are clean, that utilities like water and electricity are operating effectively and efficiently, and that our campus is clean and beautiful. The work environment for this position is predominantly indoors. Exposure to dust, odors, moving mechanical parts and noise is common.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Key Qualifications:
¿ Education ¿ H.S. Diploma Preferred
¿ Demonstrated experience with basic cleaning and disinfecting best practices
¿ Demonstrated experience with the use of custodial cleaning equipment
¿ Demonstrated experience with the use of snow removal equipment
